Western Xia Imperial Tombs 西夏王陵
Nine imperial mausolea and 253 attendant tombs spread across 50 km² at the foot of the Helan Mountains — remnants of the Western Xia dynasty that Genghis Khan obliterated so thoroughly that few written records survive. The rammed-earth burial mounds, eroded into conical shapes, are dubbed 'China's Pyramids.'
Helan Mountain Rock Carvings 贺兰山岩画
Over 6,000 petroglyphs spanning 10,000 years — from Neolithic hunting scenes to Silk Road-era Buddhist figures — carved into the dark desert-varnished cliff faces of the Helan Mountains. The sun-face carvings have become Ningxia's cultural symbol.
Nanguan Mosque 南关清真寺
The largest mosque in Ningxia, rebuilt in 1981 in a striking blend of Arabic dome-and-minaret architecture with Chinese green-glazed tile roofing.
